Is your course approved?
Our course is approved by the California DMV under standards set forth in Section 1675 of the California Vehicle Code.
How long is the course?
The Initial course is 400 minutes or 6 hours and the Refresher course is 240 minutes or 4 hours. Both courses can be completed at any time day or night and you have up to 6 months to complete the course.
*How will I receive my premium reduction?
Drivers 50 Years of Age and Over Receive a Premium Reduction from GEICO for up to Three Years!*
California drivers 50 years of age and over can now complete our 100% online, California DMV-approved defensive driving course and may be eligible to receive an insurance premium reduction for up to 3 years. Upon course completion, we will electronically report your completion data to GEICO and provide you with a mailed certificate of completion for your files. Note: Drivers who have CFRs filed are disqualified from eligibility.
